Speaking during a livestream session on Insomniac Games’ official Twitch channel, game engine chief programmer Elan Ruskin revealed that the studio’s next game will likely include “cool” dialogue technology from Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and perhaps Marvel’s Wolverine.

What this new dialogue technology does is currently unknown. The studio is likely to show it off at the PlayStation showcase ahead of rumored E3 2023, along with other first-party projects in development.

According to Jeff Grubb, who is known for his connections in the games industry, Sony is saving its “good stuff” for the PlayStation Showcase, which is scheduled to take place before E3 2023.

Grubb said the not-yet-unannounced PlayStation Showcase event should actually take place in the Fall of 2022. However, the event was delayed several times as first-party studios weren’t quite ready. According to Grubb, first-party debuts are now ready to be announced, and Sony is gearing up to put on a massive show to prepare for “phase two” of the PS5 series.

Earlier, the release date of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 was revealed, and Insomniac Games announced that the superhero’s new adventure will be released in Fall 2023. The game’s PlayStation Store page is available now and offers a feature that users can add to their wishlist. This feature notifies users when there is any update in the project.

Additionally, Venom voice actor Tony Todd shared some interesting clues about the character’s role in the game. Speaking during a podcast, Todd hinted that Venom would likely appear in set pieces related to Rhino in Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales. He especially highlighted the scene where Miles smashes through the windows while following Rhino. Venom’s presence will likely be a frequent feature in similar, cinematic set pieces.
