Genshin Impact 5.3 New Banner Characters and Events Revealed!
HoYoverse has announced that Genshin Impact Version 5.3 update, “Incandescent Ode of Resurrection”, will be released on January 1st. Players will have the opportunity to meet Mavuika and Citlali and celebrate Teyvat’s New Year with the Lantern Rite event.

Developed by HoYoverse, Genshin Impact will welcome players with its new Version 5.3 update on January 1st. With this update, the Pyro Archon Mavuika will become a playable character. The Travelers will join forces with Mavuika and the warriors of Natlan in the new Archon Quest.
Natlan warriors will show themselves in the Natlan Archon Quest V. In the previous quest, all six of the Natlan warriors were united and they received the blessing of the Ode of Resurrection. The Travelers will finally obtain the power of the pyro element and take part in the final war with the Abyss.
The New Event Characters in Genshin Impact 5.3
Mavuika
The defender of the Natlan, Mavuika, also known as Pyro Archon Haborym, joins the battlefield with her unique fighting techniques: her greatsword and Flamestrider.
With her elemental skill, she unleashes The Ring of Searing Radiance which follows the active characters and deal continuous Pyro DMG. When the skill is held, Mavuika can drive the Flamestrider at high speed to move across terrain or glide across the sky. She can also use Flamestrider to launch different attacks.
Her elemental burst, Mavuika unleashes a Sunfell Slice on the enemy and enters a special state, increasing her resistance to interruption. Additionally, she reduces the cooldown of Nightsoul Transmission when she joins the party.
Citlali
In contrast to the burning flames of Mavuika, Citlali, known as “Granny Itzli” is a catalyst user 5-star character who wields the element of Cryo, freezing the battle field. As the wise and powerful shaman of her tribe, she always carries her two little companions Itzpapa and Citlalin, which can transform into a cushion and pillows respectively, allowing her to float in the air.
With her elemental skills, Citlali creates a Shield and calls forth the Tzitzimitl: Itzpapa. When Citlali’s Nightsoul points exceed a certain amount, Itzpapa summons a storm that will continuously attack enemies, dealing AoE Cryo DMG.
With her elemental burst, Citlali commands both companions to attack at the same time and deals Cryo DMG. After the explosion, Citlali will recover a certain amount of Nightsoul points.
Even if she is not on the field, Citlali can decrease the Hydro and Pyro RES of enemies affected by Frozen and Melt reactions, while in the Nightsoul’s Blessing state.
Both Mavuika and Citlali will be featured in the first half of the Event Banner, while Arlecchino and Clorinde will appear in the second half.
Lantern Rite is Back!
As the new 4-star Anemo character from Liyue, Lan Yan will use a catalyst and she will be available during the second half of the version 5.3. Using one of the Qimen spells she inherited from her ancestors, Lan Yan will be able to transform elements into Hydro, Pyro, Cryo and Electro and create a shield that can absorb damage.
The Chronicled Wish banner also returns with Liyue characters, including Baizhu, Shenhe, Keqing, Ganyu, Xiao, Tartaglia and Qiqi. Players will finally have the chance to obtain the long-awaited Cryo character Shenhe.
Additionally, during the Lantern Rite, they can revisit Liyue and celebrate the new year of Teyvat with rewards, including Intertwined Fate x10, Primogems x1600 and a free 4 star Liyue character of their choice.

The version 5.3 will continue to offer new character outfits, features, events and minigames. Players will be able to obtain the free outfit “New Year’s Cheer” for Xiangling, while the outfit for Hu Tao “Cherries Snow-Laden Outfit” will be available with a time-limited discount.
Other improvements include updates to the character, artifact, and weapon interfaces. The artifact inventory limit will increase to 2100, giving players more space and flexibility for artifact management. Additionally, bosses will now respawn in just 5 seconds after rewards are claimed, making it easier to farm character talent materials.
Genshin Impact Version 5.3 will launch on January 1st, featuring the Pyro Archon Mavuika and the Lantern Rite event. Players can continue their adventures in Teyvat with cross-save and cross-play features across platforms including PlayStation, Xbox, PC, Android, and iOS.
