Concord PS5 & PC Shutdown: How to Get Your Refund

Sony has taken a surprising decision about their latest entry, first-person shooter game Concord that they are shutting off the game on Friday, after 50 days of Concord’s launch.

When we hear a new game coming by Playstation, we usually get excited. Not only games that are developed by their own studios but also games published by Playstation has high standards. We usually know what to expect and not to expect from those games, leaving no space for surprises. However, Sony’s latest game Concord has received negative criticism from majority of gamers. This seems to affected sales rates that Sony has decided to something that we have never seen from them.

Today Sony shared an announcement made by Ryan Ellis, Game Director of Firewalk Studios. Ellis stated that Firewalk Studios realized the significant negative criticism directed towards Concord. For this reason, they decided to take Concord offline starting from September 6, 2024, Ellis tells. He emphasizes that they will be working on Concord to bring it back by fixing the issues players criticize. However, Concord’s future is not bright at the moment. Given these points, uncertain future of Concord caused Sony to cease future purchases for the game.

Good news is that those who have purchased the game will be refunded accordingly. Here’s how to get your refunds if you have already paid for Concord.

If you purchased the PlayStation 5 game through the PlayStation Store or PlayStation Direct, you will receive a refund to your original payment method. In addition, customers who purchased from other internet retailers will also receive returns. Here’s more information about how to get your money back from Steam and Epic:

Steam Store: Those who paid for the game will get their money back in the next few days. Steam will let you know when they handle the refund.

EPIC Games Store—Players who bought the game will get their money back over the next few days. Epic Games will reach out to each customer to make sure the return has been addressed.

Other shop refunds—Customers who bought a hard copy somewhere other than PlayStation should follow the store’s return policy to get their money back.
