Dying Light: The Beast is officially announced!

Techland announced Dying Light: The Beast during Gamescom’s Opening Night Live Stream. Now it’s time to slice some zombies.

Dying Light: The Beast

Techland officially announced the new Dying Light game called Dying Light: The Beast at the Gamescom Opening Night Livestream. The new installment in the series will feature a new open-world region and offer 18+ hours of gameplay.

Dying Light: The Beast will take place between the events of Dying Light and Dying Light 2 Stay Human. The original game’s protagonist Kyle Crane returns, voiced once again by Roger Craig Smith. The Beast was originally planned as DLC for Dying Light 2 Stay Human, but Techland later decided to turn the DLC into a standalone game.

Crane had to endure over a decade of being experimented on, but he eventually escaped from the prison and is now seeking revenge. Because of these experiments, zombie DNA was mixed into Crane’s blood, and this seems to have given him the monstrous power we see in the trailer. The game is set in a place called Castor Woods, which was once a tourist destination but is now overrun by zombies. This time, we’ll leave the bustling city chaos behind and head to the countryside. You’ll be able to play the game in a four-player co-op with shared progression, or solo. Again, the game will keep the high-quality parkour and zombie-slaying challenge as always.

Dying Light: The Beast’s release date has not been announced yet but it’ll land for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC. A release date is expected to be shared later this year. You can watch the announcement trailer below.
