Sony officially introduced the new PlayStation 5 Pro for its PlayStation console family. PS5 Pro will be released on November 7, 2024 and pre-orders will be available starting on September 26, 2024.
The console will offer a new gaming experience with its features, including an upgraded GPU, advanced ray tracing, 2 TB of SSD storage and PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution.
PS5 Pro Specs
PlayStation 5 Pro specs were introduced in a technical presentation hosted by Mark Cerny, the lead architect of the PlayStation 5 console. Here are the features of PS5 Pro:
- Upgraded GPU: PS5 Pro will offer 67 percent more compute units than the current PS5 console, and it has 28 percent faster memory. This will allow for 45 percent faster rendering of games and improved frame rates, providing an overall better and more fluid gaming experience
- Advanced Ray Tracing: Sony stated that the new powerful GPU will improve ray-traced games and allow the rays to be cast at double, and at times triple, the speeds, in comparison to the current PS5 console.
- AI-powered Upscaling: The machine learning-based PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR) will be able to process an extraordinary amount of detail and provide super sharp image clarity.
PS5 Pro Pricing
The price of the PlayStation 5 Pro was announced at 799 euros/699 dollars.
