The first huge update of Sons of the Forest is out!

The first major update has arrived for the Forest sequel Sons of the Forest, which comes along with action, exploration and building mechanics. Door for defansive walls and house locks are now in the game.

The first major update of Sons of the Forest, the survival horror game developed by Canadian independent video game studio Endnight Games and released by Newnight on February 23, 2023, has been released.

Many innovations have been added to the game, from defensive walls doors to house locks, from binoculars to gliders. Here are all the new features added to the game:

Patch notes of Sons of the Forest

  • Binoculars and hang glider have been added to the game.
  • Added door where we can defend.
  • Added missing Virginia leather suit to the map.
  • Added door lock.
  • Added “Reset Settings” button in the options screen.
  • Angry cannibals can now jump out of trees and attack.
  • Small birds now can be eaten.
  • Small structures (chair etc.) can now be broken and taken resources.
  • Cannibals now have new headshot death animation variants.
  • Added an option to hide player name.
  • Added watchtowers to some cannibal villages.
  • Added sleep cooldown
  • Player Sleep Interruption events from close enemies are now possible.
  • DLSS version has been updated to 3.1.1
  • Coral rock sizes have been reduced.
  • The benefit and harm of all herbs and mushrooms were balanced.
  • Fish trap bug has been fixed. It should now be operational and catching fish.
  • Story Paper pickups will now present a “Zoom” ui.
  • A new structure type has been added: One-Sided Apex. It bridges the gap between a sinking beam and its supporting beam. Automatically aligns depending on the leaning beam orientation. Automatically adjusts the duration of quarter log fluctuations.

    Additionally, some balance, enhancement, bug fixes and sound adjustments have been made.
